Frequently answered questions
We recommend familiarizing yourself with the platform by starting on the DSROI platform dashboard and looking at the various links to identify where the discussion forum is, the weekly schedule and the Zoom link for lectures. We also recommend you click on the link to sign and submit a consent form. Then we recommend introducing yourself using the online discussion forum. From there, we suggest you go to the section meet your faculty to get to know a little about them. Then you can begin reviewing the content for Module 1.
The schedule for lectures can be found on the DSROI platform dashboard under the Quick Access heading. There is a link to the schedule that says Weekly Schedule.
If you are unable to attend a live lecture, a recording as well as transcripts from the session will be uploaded to the platform. You can find the links to the recordings on the DSROI platform dashboard under the heading: Quick Access. You will find a link that says Lecture Recordings.

The discussion forum is a place for conversation with fellow DSROI participants and the faculty. For some modules, DSROI faculty will ask participants to answer questions or respond to prompts within the lectures on the DSROI platform. It is also a place to ask questions to participants and share experiences. Each week you will have a Radical Action to watch, read or listen to with questions for you to answer. Your answers to the Radical Action questions can be posted on the discussion forum. The faculty for each module will start a thread to ask for responses to the Radical Action questions for their specific module.
Start by listening, watching, reading the video or audio introduction to the module you are reviewing. For example, for Module 1, listen, watch or read the video/audio introduction by the faculty. This will provide an overview of the module content and instructions for how to navigate the materials. Next, read the module objectives to get an overview of what the module will focus on and the topics that will be covered. Then, go through the different sections of the module that include: readings, the PowerPoint presentation for the lecture, the Radical Action, Additional Resources and the Disability Art and Representation section. We suggest you review the PowerPoint presentation before the lecture to familiarize yourself with the contents.
