Anahí Guedes de Mello is a Brazilian anthropologist with a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). She is currently a collaborating researcher at the Center for Disability Studies (NED) with UFSC’s Department of Psychology, and an associate researcher at Anis – Institute of Bioethics, based in Brasilia. She is a deaf and lesbian activist in the disability rights and LGBTI+ social movements in Brazil. Ms. Guedes de Mello is also coordinator of the Brazilian Association of Anthropology (ABA) Committee on Disability and Accessibility and a member of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) Working Group for Critical Studies on Disability.
